Each year at this time, the Moncton Chapter conducts a membership
survey which allows you to provide us with valuable feedback to
ensure that we are responding to your professional development
needs. The Chapter executive uses your feedback to help shape
the strategic planning of annual events including breakfast
meetings, professional development days, workshops and social
activities.

SURVEY ON HIRING IMMIGRANTS
Dear employer,
On behalf of the New Brunswick Multicultural Council, Inc (NBMC),
the bilingual non-profit, umbrella organization for
immigrant-serving agencies, multicultural and ethno-cultural
associations in the province, we invite you to take a few minutes
to complete our Provincial Employer Survey on Hiring
Immigrants. The diffusion of the survey is done in
collaboration with our partners, including member associations, the
Chambers of commerce, the Enterprise network, Tourism Industry
Association of New Brunswick, etc.

HRANB Moncton Chapter wishes to thank all participants at the
HRANB/Frye Festival event on Friday April 26th for their
exceptional participation in the book drive which resulted in a
total of 170 new and gently used books for Moncton’s Le
Sommet school. HRANB Moncton helping cultivate the leaders of
tomorrow one book at a time!
REMINDER TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE PRACTICE ANALYSIS
SURVEY
Members are reminded to participate in a practice analysis survey
that the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations (CCHRA)
is conducting on behalf of its member human resources associations
which include the Human Resources Association of New Brunswick. A
practice analysis is a systematic study of a profession. The
practice analysis study will provide the basis for updating the
Required Professional Capabilities (RPC), which provide the basis
of the National Knowledge Exam as well as a diverse array of other
programs.

EXAM
Starting with the June 2013 administration of the exam, the number
of questions on the NKE will increase to 160 questions from the
current 150 questions.
CASHRA 2013 IS LOOKING FOR
SUBMISSIONS FOR THEIR ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN
HALIFAX, NS
The CASHRA conference is an opportunity for human rights advocates,
leaders and academics to exchange and debate ideas in the field of
human rights.
REGISTRATIONS - CHRP EXAMS AND PREPARATORY
SESSIONS
HRANB is still accepting registrations for the June 1, 2013 CHRP
exams.
Reminder, the registration deadline is April 2, 2013.
ALL required documentation and payment must be received prior to
the registration deadline in order to confirm your
registration.

Ann Beaton, PhD, Professor and Canada Research Chairholder in
intergroup relations from the Université de Moncton invites
you to participate in a research project concerning the experiences
of individuals who pursue a career in human resources. The results
of this survey will help to better understand your level of
satisfaction with the way that you are treated in the workplace.
CCHRA WILL BE REPORTING SCALED SCORES FOR THE
NKE
Starting in October 2012, the National Knowledge Exam (NKE) overall
scores will be reported as scaled scores.

The terms of office for the Moncton Chapter executive will be
coming to an end effective January 2013. The Chapter is
looking for six (6) representatives from within the general
membership to assume Director roles for a two year term (2013
— 2015).

PROGRAM
After the successful implementation of the Mentorship Program last
year and continued interest in the program, we are once again
offering the program to support the development of young/new human
resource professionals, and for experienced professionals looking
to expand their area of practice.
IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT OBTAINING YOUR CHRP
DESIGNATION
In the fall of 2011, HRANB announced that individuals pursuing the
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation will need
to satisfy an experience requirement beginning in January 1,
2012. The new requirement is for individuals to demonstrate
three or more years of professional experience in human resources
within the last ten years.

This notice is to inform the members of HRANB that the Annual
General Meeting of HRANB is scheduled for November 22nd at the
Hilton Saint John, 1 Market Square, Saint John. The meeting will
take place following the Saint John chapter monthly breakfast
meeting.
HRANB Fredericton Chapter launches Mentorship
Program
The results from the 2010 Membership Survey indicated there was an
expression of interest in a program that would support the
development of young/new human resource professionals, in addition
to experienced professionals looking to expand their area of
practice.
HRANB is proud to announce the introduction of a
new on-line web-based application!
We have launched the on-line Human Resources Service
Providers’ Guide which was introduced to you in the
spring. On various occasions, HRANB receives inquiries from
members and non-members regarding various service providers and how
they may be able to reach them.
Registration deadline extended - Disney Institute
Event
It is not too late to register for the
upcoming Disney Institute event scheduled for Tuesday, October
18th. The registration deadline has been extended
to October 16th.

The Atlantic Canada Human Resources Awards
are celebrated annually to recognize Atlantic Canada's leaders in
Human Resources. The 2011 Atlantic Canada HR Awards will be
hosted by the Human Resources Association of Nova Scotia on
Thursday, September 29, 2011 in Halifax, NS.
ANNUAL GOLF EVENT
Unfortunately, this
event has been cancelled.
It’s that time of year
again…the Moncton chapter is hosting the “Nine &
Dine” golf event on Thursday June 2, 2011 at the Lakeside
Golf & Country Club located at 1896 Route 134 Lakeville,
NB.
MEMBERSHIP SURVEY RESULTS
As you recall, we sent out a survey in the
mid-fall as part of one of our priorities under our strategic
plan. Our survey results were pretty good and as you would
expect, identified some areas needing improvement from us.
HRANB ANNOUNCES NEW

As of January 1, 2012, other than the
exceptions noted in the Q & A document, HRANB will only confer
the CHRP designation to those who have both passed the NKE and NPPA
exams and have three or more years of experience in human resources
within the last 10 years.

Moncton Chapter of HRANB who would like to serve in this capacity
is eligible and may nominate themselves or be nominated by someone
else.
CHANGES TO THE NATIONAL
RECERTIFICATION LOG
Certified Human Resources Professionals
(CHRPs) are required to recertify every three years with their
provincial human resources association. CHRPs can recertify
using one of two methods: completion of the Recertification Log, or
passing the National Professional Practice Assessment®
(NPPA).

THE 13TH WORLD HR CONGRESS
After the Winter Olympics, Canada welcomes the world for a
second time this year, as we proudly host the 13th WFPMA World HR
Congress. The largest trilingual meeting of the global HR
community, the event will be held in Montreal from September 27 to
29.
CHRP MAY 2010 EXAM RESULTS - UPDATE
Please note: Exam results have been delayed due to technical
difficulties in the exam scoring process. The CCHRA appreciates
your patience as we work quickly and diligently to resolve this
issue and ensure accurate reporting of exam results.

further information. As soon as exam results are mailed, a
notification will be posted at www.chrp.ca.
REQUEST FOR
PROPOSAL - MEMBERSHIP SURVEY
As a result of
the strategic planning initiative that was undertaken in the fall
of 2009, the Human Resource Association of New Brunswick (HRANB)
will be conducting a professional member survey with our 1,000+
members. The survey will examine members’ perceptions related
to quality of services provided and the nature of services that
members suggest be offered by HRANB. HRANB is also interested in
finding out from current members their ideas on how to grow the
membership base. The survey will most likely be conducted in the
4th quarter of 2010.

ANNUAL HRANB MONCTON CHAPTER GOLF TOURNAMENT
Great news, this year we've drastically
improved our annual Golf Tournament but we still need your help.
One of our major changes this year is that we've partnered
with the Canadian Cancer Society. Everyone has faced
challenges or tragedy with cancer either themselves or with someone
they know and the HRANB is not immune. This past year we have
had members fighting cancer and have even lost members to that
fight. We think it's time to fight back!

As of January 1, 2011, CHRP Candidates
— those who have passed the National Knowledge Exam™
(NKE) - will require a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an
accredited college or university in order to register for the
National Professional Practice Assessment™ (NPPA) and qualify
for the CHRP designation.
